MARCUS NORTHCUTT, Oakdale: You won't see big stats with the senior RB, but he's produced when the Mustangs needed him — running, receiving and returning punts. He's run for 984 yards and 14 TDs, and a few weeks ago he returned a punt for TD.

His Mustangs (10-1) are the No. 1 seed in the section Division 3 playoffs and host Benicia in a quarterfinal on Friday. Northcutt expects to improve upon his numbers from his first playoff game: Eight carries for 98 yards and two TDs in a 63-7 victory.

JAYCE WEBSTER, Buhach Colony: He has become the big-play threat for the Thunder (10-2), seeded No. 2 in the Division 2 playoffs. Webster has run for 627 yards on just 55 carries — 11.4 yards per carry — and ran for more than 100 yards against Serra (San Mateo) and Merced.

Webster also has been in on 59 tackles, while intercepting three passes and recovering a fumble. He has deflected six passes, including three against rival Atwater. He's become a return terror of late, returning a kickoff for a score in each of the last three regular-season games.
