Jeff Jardine had a good assessment of the 10th District campaigns (Nov. 7). Jeff Denham had an easy victory, but Jose Hernandez did receive 46 percent of the vote. That is impressive considering our Republican-leaning county. What if the Democrats had had a good organization and an outspoken candidate? That should give Denham some thought.
Now that the election is over, we all hope that people can get together to break some of the worst gridlock in Congress. Most of us want the same things for our families and our lives. Let's forget the animosity and come together as decent human beings.
One last thing: What if the super PACs, instead of throwing away billions of dollars on hate and fear ads, had put that money as taxes into areas that need help in this country? Apparently they can afford it. What an amazing thought!
