Fatal accident near Los Banos

LOS BANOS -- California Highway Patrol officers are reporting a fatal accident on Highway 165 near Los Banos.

The road was closed for nearly two hours while officers investigated the collision, which occurred at about 4:30 a.m. and involves a big rig and a sedan.

The accident occurred on the highway between Wolfsen Road and Santa Fe Grade. Both lanes were blocked until officers reopened the road at about 6:20 a.m.
