-- Elections officials worked into the wee hours updating voting figures from Tuesday's election. The Stanislaus County Office of Elections posted final prelminary numbers at 1:50 a.m.

Results, available at www.stanvote.com, show 100 percent of precincts reporting, though vote-by-mail and provisional ballots remain to be tallied in the days to come.

In Stanislaus County, voter turnout stands at 47 percent, like elsewhere a stronger showing than the 32 percent of eligible voters who took to the polls in June.

Local voters were nearly evenly split on some of the regional and national races: though he lost the national eleciton, Republican Mitt Romney leads President Barack Obama among Stanislaus County voters 53,593 to 52,504. Challenger Elizabeth Emken, easily beaten by Sen. Dianne Feinstein, gathered 53,036 votes locally to Feinstein's 53,433.

And 586 Stanislaus County voters cast their presidential ballot for Peace and Freedom candidate and 1990s sitcom star Roseanne Barr.

We'll have updated election results throughout the day at modbee.com.
