JaVaughn Iversen, Modesto Christian
The versatile senior has been providing big plays for the Crusaders all season, and he continued that with four TDs in a 47-7 win over Orestimba that clinched a playoff berth. Iverson ran for 38 yards and three TDs, and returned a punt 79 yards for his fourth score.
JaVaughn has been consistent for us, offensively and defensively, coach Steve Gleason said. Offensively JaVaughn has had most of his success at both wing and fullback.
Hes run for 680 yards (8.2 yards per carry) and 12 TDs, averaged 10 tackles a game and deflected five passes.
Aden Ruiz, Beyer
The burly fullback ran for at least 100 yards in six of the Pats games, including a season-high 225 yards with four TDs in a Week 9 win over Modesto. He finished his year with 1,142 rushing yards and 13 TDs.
Ruiz got busy in the second half of his season, averaging 16 carries and 138 yards each week as Beyer won four of its last five. Ruizs performance was similar to the statistics he put up as a junior, when he ran for 1,174 yards and scored 13 TDs while leading Beyer to the MMC crown.
