• What he did: The 6-3, 195-pound senior passed for a season-high 454 yards and three TDs in a 24-20 win over Beyer to seal its outright MMC title and earn a No. 4 seed in the Division 1 playoffs. He has an oral commitment to the University of Hawaii, and pushed his season totals to 3,075 yards and a state-high 44 TD passes. He has 5,999 career passing yards and 73 TD throws.

• What it means: With his next complete pass, expect Zwahlen to top 6,000 career years. That could come on the first play of Friday's Division 1 playoff game, and a victory would keep the Knights at home for a semifinal game.

• What's next: Downey (9-1) hosts No. 13 seed Bethel of Vallejo (6-4) Friday at 7 p.m.
