Scout plans flag event for vets day

Daniel Davis, Life Scout Troop 42, is getting the word out on his Eagle Scout project that will feature a program and formal flag retirement ceremony for Veterans Day.

The Monday ceremony in Oakdale will honor veterans and is open to the public. Three foreign war veterans will speak during the program, as will a motivational speaker who will talk about American flag code and proper flag respect. The event will conclude with a formal flag retirement and burning. Refreshments will be provided.

The program will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. in front of the Oakdale Museum and History Center, 212 W. F St.
