Former star Midgley to co-coach Modesto Christian boys basketball

Former Modesto Christian High and University of California standout Richard Midgley has been named co-head varsity boys coach at MC.

He will share duties with Gary Porter, who requested the MCS board to make the appointment.

Midgley has been an assistant coach and has overseen team conditioning at MC the past two seasons.

The appointment was made to allow the school a smoother transition to Midgley eventually replacing Porter at the helm, although Porter has not given a time table for stepping down.
