TURLOCK -- A Delhi woman died early Saturday after the car in which she was riding struck a tree and a house, authorities said.
Taylor Vessel, 18, was ejected from the vehicle in the 1200 block of Lander Avenue, according to Sgt. Stephen Webb of the Turlock Police Department.
Investigators are looking for the driver of the vehicle, who fled the scene, witnesses told police.
Officers saw the vehicle at 3:25 a.m. traveling south at high speed on South Golden State Boulevard, Webb said. Officers began to look for the vehicle and found it had crashed against the house.
Nobody inside the home was injured. The vehicle did not penetrate the house, but there was damage to the structure.
Bystanders attempted to revive Vessel, who was taken to Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock, where she was pronounced dead.
There was surveillance footage from a nearby business that captured the suspect on video, Webb said.
