Better places to spend money than on campaigns

The Modesto Bee tells of many requirements for funding various needs and projects. The latest is one about the two girls donating money for police dogs. Such a small but conscientious amount from them.

The waste I see is needed money spent on something like the election that could be used for city, county and state needs. The amount spent on campaigns is far too much — millions of dollars and even a billion dollars. The money is gone.
