TURLOCK -- A Delhi woman was killed early Saturday morning after the car she was a passenger in struck a tree and collided with a house in Turlock, authorities said.
Taylor Vessel, 18, was pronounced dead at the scene after she was ejected from the vehicle in the 1200 block of Lander Avenue, according to Sgt. Stephen Webb of the Turlock Police Department.
Investigators are looking for the driver of the vehicle, who fled he scene, witnesses told police.
Officers saw the vehicle at 3:25 a.m. traveling south at a high rate of speed on South Golden State Avenue, Webb said. Officers began to look for the vehicle and found it had crashed against the house.
Nobody inside the home was injured. The vehicle did not penetrate the house, but there was damage to the structure.
Bystanders attempted to revive Vessel, who was taken to Emanuel Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
There was video surveillance from a nearby business that captured the suspect on video, Webb said.
