AUSTIN JONESOakdale receiver

What he did: The 6-2, 215-pound senior caught three balls for 64 yards and two TDs as Oakdale, The Bee's top-ranked school, topped Manteca 28-7 to win its sixth consecutive VOL crown. Jones' first TD was a short pass that he turned into a 38-yard scoring play, crossing the field as he continually cut back against defenders.

What it means: Jones is fourth in the district with 687 yards receiving, and he's averaging 22 yards a catch to go with his seven TDs. His ability to get downfield, and use his size to leap higher than the DBs, has been a boost to QB Spencer Thomas and the run-oriented Wing-T.

What's next: Oakdale (8-1, 6-0) hosts rival Sonora (4-5, 3-3) in the regular-season finale.
