-- Livingston police have identified the 26-year-old man shot to death Sunday morning as Christopher Ray Labuga, who was killed while walking near Prusso Street and Sunrise Court.

Officers responded to several calls of shots being fired Sunday morning, Police Chief Ruben Chavez said. They arrived to find Labuga unresponsive, lying in the road and suffering from several gunshot wounds. Paramedics tried to revive him, but were unsuccessful.

A motive for the shooting hasn't been determined. The homicide is the second reported this year in Livingston and the 16th in Merced County.

Police ask anyone with information to contact Detective Patrick Radke at (209) 394-7916 or the anonymous tip line at (209) 394-3640, or send an e-mail to tips@livingstonpd.org. Witnesses can call the Crime Stoppers hotline at (855) 725-2420. Tips are kept confidential, and callers can remain anonymous.
