MODESTO -- While the other end of the country is battening down the hatches in the face of of superstorm Sandy, the Northern San Joaquin Valley is having a warm, sunny start to the week. But rain lurks, potentially putting a damper on Halloween plans. Today, the National Weather Service forecast a high of 79, with light wind.
Come Wednesday, however, a storm will move into the area, with a 30 percent chance of rain. Most trick-or-treaters should be OK, as it's not expected to rain until late at night.
Should you be headed to San Francisco for the Giants' victory parade, it looks like a beautiful day for it partly sunny, with a high near 65.
