Jake Pruitt, Sierra: The junior began the season sharing time with Guillermo Nunez, a nimble runner. Pruitt has taken on the greater role during the 'Wolves' four-game win streak, including hitting 18 of 23 for 276 yards and two TDs in last week's 47-42 win over Sonora. He has completed 52 of 71 for 758 yards since Sierra's 49-7 loss to Oakdale in Week 4. He's stopped running, while becoming a more efficient quarterback

.• Rey Vega, Central Catholic: The star at Davis High the last two years and a big-name transfer who sat six games, he's returned with a passion. He made his six carries count for 138 yards and four TDs, after running for 180 yards in his first game back. Central is No. 1 in CalHiSports' NorCal small-school bowl rankings, and Friday's game with Central Valley features a matchup with the Hawks' explosive Ja'Quan Gardner.

WHAT'S THE BLUE LINE?: Prep reporter Richard T. Estrada will identify members of The Blue Line, judging candidates on their body of work. The process is ongoing and new members will debut each Wednesday as part of our weekly prep football package.
