Merced High girls golf team reaches Masters

— The Merced girls golf season will continue.

The Bears finished fourth with a team score of 506 at the Sac-Joaquin Section Division 1 South Tournament on Monday at the Lockeford Springs Golf Course in Lodi.

The top four teams qualify for the Sac-Joaquin Section Masters Tournament next week at The Reserve at Spanos Park in Stockton.

It's the first time Merced has advanced to the Masters tournament as a team in school history.

The Bears were led by Serina Castillo's round of 93. Netanya Hernandez shot a 94.

Buhach Colony's Heather Parker advanced as an individual with a score of 94.
