The Modesto City Schools Board will meet at 6 p.m. today in the staff development center, 425 Locust St. The meeting follows a 5 p.m. reception for students with perfect test scores.
Trustees are expected to approve a contract with support employees that gives additional furlough days to many. The California School Employees Association Modesto chapter ratified the deal Thursday.
The Board also will hear an early enrollment report showing gains in kindergarten but a decline in upper grades, for a total enrollment of 29,940 students, or 45 fewer than last year. Trustees are slated to vote on board procedures, including one that gives final say on timing of agenda items to the board president, vice president and superintendent.
The change follows the appearance on the Oct. 1 agenda of a proposal to move forward with the Enochs pool that was pulled before the meeting.
