Teen Hall of Fame: Katie Foster, Freshman, UC Davis
At only 18, Katie has accomplished more than most people her age could ever dream.
A recent graduate of Modesto Christian High School, she made the most of her high school experience. Katie took numerous Advanced Placement and honors classes and was in the California Scholarship Federation and National Honor Society.
When it came to giving back to her community, Katie volunteered at Golden Bear Physical Therapy, Ajax United Soccer Academy and the Redwood Family Center, which helpssingle mothers get back on their feet, provides them with shelter and gives their children a place to attend school.
She also helped out with a clothing drive for children at Acres of Love, located in South Africa, and was able to visit the children in the summer of 2010.
However, what really sets Katie apart from her peers is that she has played soccer since she was 5 years old. Katie was starting goalkeeper for her Modesto Ajax team and was named best goalkeeper of the Ajax Club.
Even with Katie's busy schedule, she has managed to maintain a 4.5 GPA and earn a scholarship to play soccer at the University of California at Davis.
When she is not busy doing homework or practicing for the next game, she enjoys reading, working out and hanging out with friends.
