OAKDALE -- The Oakdale City Council tonight will consider approving an agreement to have Stanislaus County take over operations of the city's dial-a-ride buses starting Jan. 1.
The transit service now is provided by the Riverbank Oakdale Transit Authority. But ROTA has struggled financially and its board, whose members come from the city councils of both cities, authorized several months of having the county take over the service.
Additionally, Oakdale officials tonight will hear updates from Finance Director Albert Avila on resuming street-sweeping services and turning back on streetlights that the city had turned off a couple of years ago to save money.
