Modesto accepting holiday parade entries

MODESTO -- Entry forms are available for the city of Modesto's annual Celebration of Lights Parade, which this year has the theme "Holidays in Whoville, a Tribute to Dr. Seuss."

Thousands will be drawn to downtown Modesto on Dec. 1 for the parade and the Victorian Christmas Market presented by the Dickens Faire and Modesto Certified Farmers Market. Parade rules and entry forms are at www.modestogov.com/prnd/events/holidayparade/entries.asp.

Entries will be accepted through 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 5. The entry fee is $60 for all categories, including nonprofit, private/individual and business/commercial entries. Entries received after the Nov. 5 deadline will incur a $20 late fee. Late entries will be accepted until 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 14. For more information, call (209) 577-5344.
