-- Modesto police are looking for a man who was seen with a homicide victim two days before he was killed.

Jorge Amador-Molina, 57, was found stabbed to death inside the west Modesto home he rented in the 100 block of Maple Street.

On the morning of Sept. 23, a couple who had agreed to rent the home and sublet it to Amador-Molina said they found him dead inside one of the bedrooms when they arrived to move in.

Modesto police homicide investigators have had limited leads in this case and hope to identify and speak to a "person of interest" who might shed light on the violent assault against Amador-Molina, an ice cream vendor.

Surveillance footage from Sept. 21 shows Amador-Molina at Launderland at 328 I St. and the Max Value Store at 415 Paradise Road, police said.

At both businesses, he is accompanied by an unknown Latino man in his 20s.

Detectives released surveillance photos of the man and are asking the public to help identify him.

Police ask anyone with information regarding this incident or who knows the identity of the person pictured in the surveillance photos to call Crime Stoppers at (209) 521-4636.

Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and are eligible for a reward.

Tipsters can text information to Crime Stoppers by sending a text message to 274637. Just type "TIP704" along with the message.
