Riverbank Cheese & Wine Exposition

Riverbank Rotary Club presents the 36th annual Riverbank Cheese & Wine Exposition. The family-friendly event features more than 200 vendors, including arts and crafts booths and food booths. There also will be live entertainment from community performers, as well as 5K and 10K runs.

MSO

The Modesto Symphony Orchestra plays its first classics concert of the season with a program highlighting Bach and Ravel. The program features J.S. Bach's Orchestral Suite No. 3 in D Major, Maurice Ravel's Gypsy theme "Tzigane," Jules Massenet's "Meditation" from the opera "Thais," Edward Elgar's "Serenade for Strings" and Ottorino Respighi's "Ancient Airs and Dances," Suite No. 2. David Lockington conducts, with his wife, violinist Dylana Jenson, serving as soloist.

'The Odd Couple'

The West Side Players perform Neil Simon's comedy "The Odd Couple" (Female Version). The play centers on mismatched roommates — one is sloppy and one is neat. The leads are Becky Nunes and Melanie Braun. Other cast members are Gail Chapman, Linda Garrett, Della Rose Bettencourt, Tiffany Gomes, John Burgess and Joe Moitozo Jr.

'Prisoner of Passion'

"Prisoner of Passion" centers on the Apostle Paul when he was under house arrest in Rome. He is visited by a servant girl and her mother, who question him about the Christian faith. The dialogue is almost entirely taken from the New Testament in the Bible. Cast members are David Payne, AnnaGee Harris and Suze Harris.

Leo Kottke

Acoustic guitarist Leo Kottke made his major-label record debut in 1971 with "Mudlark." He followed up with 1972's "Greenhouse" and 1973's "My Feet Are Smiling" and "Ice Water." He performs a mix of folk, rock, jazz and bluegrass. He has two Grammy nominations and a doctorate in music from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Tingstad & Rumbel

Congregation Beth Shalom's Sunday Afternoons at CBS concert series continues with a performance by Grammy Award-winning Americana duo Eric Tingstad (guitar) and Nancy Rumbel (double reeds and ocarina). The duo has recorded for more than 24 years and produced 19 albums. Tingstad and Rumbel won a Grammy in 2003 for the CD "Acoustic Garden."
