(Kickoff at 7:30, unless noted)

PITMAN at BUHACH: They played for the CCC title a year ago — and it came down to the final play. This year the No. 2 Pride (5-0) want to avenge that loss, but it will have to do it on the road against No. 3 Buhach Colony (3-2). Both love to run the ball, and BC has one of the nation's top linemen in Aaron Cochran (6-5, 380). If Pitman prevails, it will have the chance to finish 10-0 and earn D-1's top seed.

ORESTIMBA at ESCALON: The state's No. 3 rusher comes to town, with Steven Machado (1,392 yards) leading Orestimba (5-1, 1-1) into this TVL battle. No. 6 small-school Escalon (4-2, 1-1) has powerful Nathan Chunn (911 yards) to counter the Machado, but the Cougars have struggled against teams with speed.

MERCED at TURLOCK: The No. 6 large-school Bears (3-2) are looking for their first playoff trip since 2008, and Eli Gutierrez (1,302 total yards, 20 TDs) has thrown at least 3 TDs each week. Turlock (3-2) has a challenge just keeping up with Merced's offense in this CCC opener.

SIERRA at MANTECA, 7: It's Manteca's (3-2, 2-0) chance to show it can threaten Oakdale's dominance. The Buffs are hot behind RB Eddie Smith (750 yards, 13 TDs) and a heavy O-line, but Sierra (4-1, 1-1) has one of the area's big-play RBs in Anthony Cota (658, 16).

LE GRAND at WATERFORD: It would be the biggest victory for Waterford (4-1, 2-0) since the school opened in 2001 — but it also means beating a two-time defending section champion in Le Grand (4-1, 2-0). Waterford is winless against the Bulldogs. The 'Cats allow just 10 points game, but they have yet to see a receiver like Christian Williams; he had four TDs in the first quarter alone last week.
