JUDY SLY — Modesto Bee

Today marks exactly four weeks until voters in California and nationwide elect a president and determine winners in other offices as well as on important ballot measures.

Today also is the first day Stanislaus County residents can obtain and vote a ballot. They are available at the election office at 1021 I St., Modesto.

Sample ballots will be mailed starting Wednesday. Already, 537 ballots to military and overseas voters have been sent, and 61 have been returned.

Modesto Bee is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news. We encourage lively, open debate on the issues of the day, and ask that you refrain from profanity, hate speech, personal comments and remarks that are off point.
