MODESTO -- California Bowlers have stepped up again for veterans, leading the nation in support of the Bowlers to Veterans Link (BVL). Californians donated over $142,000, far eclipsing second-place Virginia at $39,000.
The BVL mission is to brighten the days and boost the spirits of our nation's veterans who are in VA Medical Centers and state homes. The donations pick up where government funding leaves off, providing recreational and therapeutic programs and services that speed recovery and improve morale.
The BVL program was founded by bowlers in 1942 to help support America's troops. Since then almost $30 million has been raised.
