"Out of the Spotlight: How to Support Siblings of Individuals with Special Needs" will be presented at 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Modesto City Schools staff development center, 425 Locust St. Modesto City Schools' Special Education Community Advisory Committee will present training by Ann Cirimele, executive director of the Family Resource Network. HUGHSON BOARD TO MEET:
The Hughson Unified School District board will meet at 6:30 p.m. today at the district office, 6815 Hughson Ave., Hughson. Trustees will hear reports on test scores for similar schools and the state's overall achievement scores for 2012.
KEYES BOARD TO MEET:
The Keyes Union Elementary School District board will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the Keyes Elementary School cafeteria, 5680 Seventh St., Keyes. The board will recognize students with high scores on state tests. Trustees will vote on 2012-13 agreements with State Preschool, Head Start and Foothill Horizons Outdoor Education Program.
TWAIN HARTE GIRL LAUDED:
Genevieve Florez, 10, of Twain Harte was honored with a statement in the Assembly record by Rep. Jeff Denham, R-Turlock, for organizing a schoolwide donation project to send care packages to U.S. troops. Genevieve attends Joshua Cowell Elementary School in Manteca, where her mother teaches.
