The candidates in the 5th Senate District each have topped $1 million in fund-raising since Jan. 1, according to their latest campaign finance reports.

Reports from Assembly candidates in and near Stanislaus County show a wide range of fund-raising activity in advance of the Nov. 6 election.

The reports, filed with the secretary of state's office, are for money raised or spent through Sept. 30.

They show varying levels of money on hand for the final push, including money raised this year and earlier.

The details:

5th Senate District: Democrat Cathleen Galgiani of Stockton had $1,122,483 in donations for the year, including $580,452 in the most recent reporting period, July through September. The district includes all of San Joaquin County; most of Modesto and the Salida, Riverbank and Empire areas; and a small piece of Sacramento County.

No report was on file for Democratic candidate Christopher Mateo of Lathrop. He could not be reached Monday.

The 12th takes in eastern Modesto, as well as Oakdale, Riverbank, Hughson, Waterford, Ripon, Escalon, Manteca, Linden and Lockeford.

21st Assembly District: Democrat Adam Gray led Republican Jack Mobley in this district, which takes in all of Merced County, south and west Modesto, Ceres, Patterson and Newman.
