And people wonder why unions have gotten such as bad name.

The power outage in the Turlock area Sept. 29 and 30 illustrates how arrogant and childish the unions involved were. In this age of cell phones, not one of the 40 Turlock Irrigation District workers was available to help out. And when other utilities were contacted, not one of their union workers were available.

And no matter how much lame spin the union representatives came up with, this certainly was an obvious sign of one-upmanship. These union workers who earn $40 per hour and have an overly generous pension certainly did not help their cause in the public eye.

If these unions have a beef with management, they should act like men and deal with their grievances in a proper way instead of pouting like children. The people who were without power for two days suffered because of arrogance and childlike behavior by the unions.
