It's a fund-raiser, after all

In response to "Next time let us bring wine" (Sept. 25, Letters): I felt this letter was in very poor taste and insulted the Gallo family and their wine products. The Picnic at the Pops was meant to entertain the community and to raise funds for the struggling Modesto Symphony so that it could continue to entertain. I would hazard to guess that the majority of the people attending were there for a pleasant evening of music and to help raise the much-needed funds for the organization, even if it meant buying a bottle of Gallo wine.
