-- Two Merced County residents were arrested in Ripon after they were found to be in possession of about 70 grams of methamphetamine, authorities said.

Officer Mike Perry of the Ripon Police Department was on patrol late Tuesday night when he noticed an orange Saturn make an illegal U-turn, according to Sgt. Steve Merchant.

Merchant said Perry pulled over the vehicle and discovered the driver, Victoria Carline White, 36, of Hilmar, had a suspended license. Her passenger, Scott Ray Casey, 24, of Hilmar, was found to be on active parole.

Perry searched the vehicle and found the drugs, drug paraphernalia, a syringe, marijuana and more than $1,000 in cash.

Casey was booked at San Joaquin County Jail on possession of a controlled substance, paraphernalia and a parole hold. White was booked on various drug charges.
