Two people were detained after authorities found a dead man in the bed of a pickup truck during a traffic stop Wednesday afternoon on Highway 132 west of the San Joaquin National Wildlife Refuge, The Record newspaper of Stockton reported.

Authorities found the body in a sleeping bag and ruled the death as suspicious even though no visible signs of trauma were present. The cause of death for the man will be determined after an autopsy, according to the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Department.

The two people inside the truck stopped at East Highway 132 and South Welty Road are being questioned, and an investigation is ongoing. The man's identity will be released after his family is notified.
