• MENDED HEARTS SUPPORT GROUP

Where: Sutter Health Education and Conference Center, Building 60, McHenry Village, 1700 McHenry Ave.

Info: Mended Hearts is a nationwide nonprofit volunteer organization dedicated to offering aid and the gift of hope to heart patients, caregivers and their families through weekly support groups. • SCIENCE COLLOQUIUM SEMINAR

When: Wednesday, 4 to 5 p.m.

Where: Modesto Junior College, Science 208, 435 College Ave.

Info: The MJC science, mathematics and engineering division is offering a series of miniseminars. The courses are offered on a variety of topics under the theme "Science That Matters." Wednesday's presentation will feature David Martin, MJC biologist, on the topic of "Yosemite Toad Discoveries." It is free and open to the public. • AARP DRIVER SAFETY REFRESHER CLASS

When: Thursday, 9:30 a.m.

Where: Modesto Senior Center, 211 Bodem St.

Info: AARP will hold a four-hour refresher safety course. This course will renew the mature-driver insurance discount for three years. The cost is $14. AARP members receive a $2 discount. Preregistration is encouraged, as the class size is limited to 30 registrations. For more information and to register, call (209) 341-2974.

• PARENTS NIGHT OUT

When: Friday, 5 to 11 p.m.

Where: Unity Church of Modesto, 2467 Veneman Ave.
