CERES -- A man suspected of being the cross-dressing bank robber, now called "the stretch pants bandit," was caught in Alameda on Sunday and now is in Stanislaus County Jail on suspicion of robbery.
Leonard Charles Brown Jr. is accused of robbing the Bank of America in Ceres on Sept. 18. The robber entered the bank wearing a disguise that included a black miniskirt, an off-the-shoulder top, a black wig and black "stretchy pants."
Detective Derek Perry said Brown lied to Alameda police when confronted but later gave his real name. Alameda police talked to Brown after getting a report of a suspicious person in front of a Lucky store.
