• CANCER AWARENESS WORKSHOP

When: Today, 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Where: Ceres Community Center, 2701 Fourth St.

Info: The Chemo Crew will put on a workshop to help bring awareness to having a healthy lifestyle after being given the diagnosis of cancer. Those fighting cancer and their caregivers are invited to hear clinical dietitian Faron Moreno discuss the benefits of having a healthy diet during and after treatment. Survivors will also offer helpful tips and resources.

• ADVISORY COUNCIL MEETING

Where: Salida Library, Community Room, 4835 Sisk Road

Info: The Salida Municipal Advisory Council will hold a meeting with featured speaker Twila Tosh, superintendent of Salida Union School District. Salida residents are invited to attend, ask questions and share any other community concerns including their thoughts on the suggestion Modesto should annex Salida. • SUICIDE PREVENTION WALK

When: Saturday, 8:30-9:30 a.m.

Where: Mancini Bowl, Graceada Park, Needham and Sycamore avenues

Info: "Out of the Darkness Suicide Prevention Walk" sponsored by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. This is the third annual walk to help heal the losses of the past, and help prevent suicide from taking more lives. • COMMUNITY HEALTH AND RESOURCE FAIR

Where: Sutter Tracy Community Hospital, 1420 N. Tracy Blvd.

Info: Health and resource fair offering a wide range of community and county resources, information about health and safety topics, and free health screenings. Free full eye exam and glasses for the first 300 people who qualify. Vouchers compliments of Vision Service Plan. Full criteria and details available at the fair. Free flu shots while supplies last.
