Candidate forum for District 5 set

State Senate candidates Bill Berryhill and Cathleen Galgiani will face off in a forum at 6 p.m. Monday at the Stockton campus of California State University, Stanislaus.

They are running in the Nov. 6 election in the new District 5, which includes all of San Joaquin County, most of Modesto and the Salida, Riverbank and Empire areas.

Galgiani, a Democrat, has served in the Assembly since 2006. Berryhill, a Republican, has served since 2008.

The free forum is sponsored by the League of Women Voters of San Joaquin County. It will be in room 1014 in the Acacia Court building, 612 E. Magnolia St.
