Sean Downs, Turlock: This is his second season as the starting QB, and Downs has become a threat with the ball in the pocket or running downfield. He was 9 of 10 for 132 yards and three TDs and ran for 122 yards and two TDs in a 48-23 win over Modesto. The junior has thrown for 354 yards and four TDs for the 2-2 Bulldogs, while running for 268 yards and four TDs.
Joey Lopes, Patterson: He got the starting QB job late in his junior season and has continued to improve during his senior year. He threw for 311 yards and two TDs (two picks) in a 24-13 loss to Escalon, and has completed 43 of 85 for 760 yards and nine TDs for the 3-1 Tigers. He's teamed with Avion Warmsley and Brandon Williams to give the Tigers a downfield passing attack.
