WRIGHT NIGHT:

A fund-raiser for Orville Wright Elementary School activities, college scholarships and the Orville Wright Little League will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at 1425 Church St. The event is by the George Rogers Foundation, named for a Wright teacher, musician and poet who died of cancer. The cost is $10 to hear music by Not an Airplane, Home Grown, Wooden Nickel and the Doo-Dah Ukulele Band. Local poets also will read their works.

FACEBOOK, TWITTER SEMINAR:

Social media safety will be the topic of a free seminar from 6 to 7 p.m. Sept. 25 at the Central Catholic High School library, 200 S. Carpenter Road. RIVERBANK TO HOLD WORKSHOP:

The Riverbank Unified School District board will meet at 3:30 p.m. today for a workshop and at 5:30 for its regular meeting in the RUSD board room, 6715 Seventh St. The workshop will be on the District Assistance and Intervention Team, extra help for districts that miss federal testing targets for four or more years. Riverbank is one of nine such districts in Stanislaus County. At its regular meeting, trustees will discuss adequacy of classroom materials, hear Stanislaus County Superintendent Tom Changnon speak about the civility initiative and review last year's budget numbers.

HONORS, UPDATES AT SALIDA MEETING:

The Salida Union School District board will meet at 7 p.m. today in the district boardroom, 5250 Tamara Way. Elementary choirs will lead off the meeting, followed by recognition of staff for years of service and presentation of the Superintendent's Cup attendance award. Trustees will hear a report on Qualified Zone Academy Bonds financing and be asked to approve a resolution on bond use. There will be updates on summer programs by the district.

ESCALON TO DISCUSS FINANCES:

The Escalon Unified School District board will meet at 7 p.m. today in the district board room, 21051 E. Highway 120. Trustees will hold a hearing on classroom materials, review last year's finances and consider approving fund transfers to meet cash flow needs.
