Info: Central West Ballet will present a free Ballet in the Park performance, now in its second year. The hourlong show will include a variety of music from Tchaikovsky to jazz to rock. The dancers will perform in costume. The program will showcase two pieces choreographed by company members Erikka Reenstierna-Cates and Alyssa Milano. Admission is free. Info: The topic "Transportation and the Health and Wealth of Cities" will be discussed by Norman Garrick, associate professor of civil and environmental engineering and former director of the Center for Transportation and Urban Planning at the University of Connecticut. He will talk about the results of a study on traffic, travel modes and economic growth and how they lead to developing policies for cities such as Modesto. Suggested donation, $10.

• MULTICULTURAL PEACE BRACELET WORKSHOP

When: Saturday, 11 a.m.

Where: Modesto library, 1500 I St.
