These school boards will meet this week:

OAKDALE: The Oakdale Unified School District board will meet at 6:30 p.m. today at the Oakdale City Council chamber, 277 N. Second Ave. Trustees will recognize Oakdale FFA Stanislaus County Fair awards. The board will hear a report on minimum days and another on last year's budget.

NEWMAN-CROWS LANDING: The Newman- Crows Landing Unified School District board will meet at 6 p.m. today at McConnell Adult Education Center, 1348 Patchett Drive, Newman. The board will discuss last year's budget and consider new hires, including a junior varsity basketball coach.

RIPON: The Ripon Unified School District board will meet at 7 p.m. today in the Ripon City Council chamber, 259 Wilma Ave. The board will recognize students with perfect scores on 2012 state standardized tests. The board will hear budget news and an update on Stouffer Field and weigh extending its pact with the city for the Ripon Community Aquatic Center.

STANISLAUS COUNTY BOARD: The Stanislaus County Board of Education will meet at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday in the county office of education boardroom, 1100 H St., Modesto. There will be an overview of common core standards by Rick Bartkowski of the county office.

SYLVAN: The Sylvan Union School District board will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the district office boardroom, 605 Sylvan Ave., Modesto. The board will hear governance goals from Superintendent John Halverson and hear an update on last year's spending, which came in $1.4 million, or 2.5 percent, under budget. The district will accept a $7,000 donation from Sylvan Educational Foundation for a parent notification system. See the full agenda at http://sylvan.csbaagendaonline.net.

SALIDA: The Salida Union School District board will hold a special meeting at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the district boardroom, 5250 Tamara Way. The board will hear a report on last year's budget and hold a study session on the energy audit.

HUGHSON: The Hughson Unified School District board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the district office, 6815 Hughson Ave. The board will recognize students with perfect scores on 2012 state standardized tests and go over district results. Trustees will hear spending and enrollment updates.

VALLEY HOME: The Valley Home Joint Elementary School District will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Harold Pope School library, 13231 Pioneer Ave. The board will hear a report on last year's budget, consider facility fees for the coming year and discuss class sizes.
