-- Down two sets to one, the Cal State Stanislaus volleyball team came roaring back to beat host Point Loma Nazarene 25-11, 22-25, 19-25, 25-20, 15-11 on Friday.

The win evened the Warriors' opening day record at the Seaside Invitational. Northwest Nazarene had earlier defeated Stanislaus 25-21, 25-18, 24-26, 25-19.

Against Point Loma Nazarene, Jennifer Marsh led the Warriors with 17 kills and freshman setter Kendal Muñoz had a solid all-around performance with 41 assists, 16 digs, two blocks and six service aces.

Muñoz capped the Stanislaus rally in the fifth with two straight aces as the Warriors scored six unanswered points.

• MJC CLASSIC — Modesto JC split games at their own Modesto JC Classic, losing to Porterville 25-13, 25-17, 25-12 before beating Skyline 16-25, 25-22, 25-23, 14-25, 15-5.

Jamie Beck had eight kills and three block assists against Skyline. Riley McCown had three kills before rolling an ankle. She is expected to be out for a few weeks.
