Oakdale police arrest purse snatch suspect

OAKDALE -- Officers arrested a 20-year-old man suspected of trying to snatch a purse from a woman Friday in Oakdale.

Daniel Kaili was being held Saturday afternoon at the Stanislaus County Jail on a charge of second-degree burglary. The attempted strong-arm robbery occurred about 9:30 a.m. in the 100 block of South Fourth Avenue, just south of East F Street.

Oakdale police said Kaili tried to take the purse from the 21-year-old woman, who fought off Kaili and held onto her purse. Shortly after the robbery attempt, police found Kaili about a block away near F Street and Fifth Avenue.
