MID supports the Hetch Hetchy dam removal — or so it appears with their consideration of an agreement to sell water to San Francisco. Soon, the environmentalist groups will be soliciting votes for their ballot measure touting the water will be replaced with the excess MID will sell them.
The average citizen in San Francisco does not follow agricultural issues or much less care about the San Joaquin Valley. If alternative water sources are identified, it will calm fears of future water issues for them. If I lived there I would vote to drink Modesto's water. And they will rest easy at night because San Francisco lawyers dictated the terms.
