Several Stanislaus County fire agencies sent a strike team Saturday night to the Jawbone Complex fires in Kern County.
The strike team is composed of two engines from the Modesto Regional Fire Authority and one engine each from agencies in Turlock, Ceres and Oakdale, said Battalion Chief Paul Spani with Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Protection District. Officials said the strike team consists of at least 15 firefighters on the five engines as well as a strike team leader and assistant strike team leader.
The Kern County Fire Department reported Sunday that the complex had burned more than 7,200 acres, and no structures were threatened.
