Hot days still ahead for Modesto area

Oakdale resident Tim Werner was not letting Sunday's heat stop him from enjoying some quiet time at Modesto Reservoir during a rare day off from his work as a plumber.

The triple-digit heat that has scorched the Modesto area the past several days is not ending just yet.

Weather Underground is predicting that daytime highs will top 100 degrees in Modesto through Tuesday, including 103 degrees today. Wednesday is the first chance for a high in the double digits, at a still-toasty 99 degrees.
