Regarding "Mistletoe Accusations" (July 30, Page A-1): Last winter my husband and I were driving down Granger Avenue when some of the trees were being pruned. Imagine our surprise when the pruning was completed but the mistletoe, which was considerable, remained!
The mistletoe was still there when the tree leafed out and I suspect the mistletoe is there to this day. Whoever was responsible for pruning these trees needs to go back and finish the job. And why wasn't it done right the first time?
It might be wise to clean up mistletoe on street trees where pruning is being done even if some trees don't need to be pruned. If this had been done on Granger last winter, the poor tree shown on the front page wouldn't look like it does.
