— Turlock police on Wednesday found a large outdoor marijuana garden near Cunningham Elementary School and arrested a woman on charges of possession and cultivation of the drug.

According to authorities, officers with the department's Narcotics Enforcement Team served a narcotics search warrant in the 200 block of Montana Street and found 527 marijuana plants, processed marijuana and indications it was being sold.

The home is within about 400 feet of Osborn Elementary School; state law prohibits even qualified patients from cultivating marijuana within 600 feet of a school. Police arrested Michelle Roman Jiminez, 31.

Police ask anyone with information on drug activity to call the Turlock Police drug hotline at 668-5550, ext. 6117. Callers can remain anonymous.
