-- Police say Larry Laugen was doing the right thing, registering as a sex offender. Unfortunately for Laugen, he went to the Police Department at the same time as the woman whose home he is suspected of breaking into earlier in the day.

According to police, officers got a call at 11:24 a.m. Wednesday from a woman reporting that a man had just forced his way into her apartment in the 200 block of Almond Avenue. She said the man knocked on the front door, then when nobody answered, went around to the back glass door, pried it open and entered the apartment.

She confronted him; he said he must have the wrong house and left. When officers arrived, the victim gave them a description, but they couldn't find him.

Later in the day, police asked the victim to come to the Police Department to follow up on the investigation. As she was leaving, she saw Laugen standing in front of the department and told the officer with her, "Hey, that's the guy," according to officer Mayra Lewis.

Police arrested Laugen, 37, on a burglary charge.
