Recently my grown children attended the Stanislaus County Fair as we've done many years in the past for the concerts. On this particular evening we were going to see Bret Michaels on the free stage.

We got there at 5 p.m. and immediately went to the free stage to get our seats. One of my kids is in a wheelchair so we parked ourselves on the cement slab that was provided for wheelchairs.

As we were sitting there, the radio station that was sponsoring the show announced they were giving away two front row seats, so I went up to sign up. I asked if I won did they have room for a wheelchair. They replied it was a safety hazard, so, no, I couldn't take my daughter up there in her chair.

I went back to the cement slab and sat for three hours. Bret came out and everyone stood up during the hour and 10 minutes he played, so my daughter was not able to see anything.

The fair needs better seating for people in wheelchairs.
