Riverbank City Councilman Richard O'Brien pulled papers to run against Mayor Virginia Madueño in one of the early filings Monday for council seats in seven of Stanislaus County's nine cities (all but Modesto and Ceres).

Anthony D. McKinney took out papers to run for the Riverbank council. Starting the paperwork in Patterson were Mayor Luis Molina, who is seeking re-election, and Antonio Camacho for council. All three incumbents started the process in Newman.

Two incumbents on the Yosemite Community College District board, Abe Rojas and Tom Hallinan, also took out papers; the other two have indicated they will run as well.

The filing period closes at 5 p.m. Aug. 10. In races in which the incumbent does not run, the filing period will be extended to Aug. 15. Those offices will be on the Nov. 6 ballot, along with contests for Assembly, Senate and president and 11 state propositions.
