The Stanislaus County Fair begins Friday. What's your favorite thing to do at the fair?

Rose Sellman, Freshman, Connecting Waters Charter School

My favorite thing to do at the fair is to work at the 4-H Farmyard Experience. I've volunteered there each year for as long as I can remember. It's always a ton of fun working there with my 4-H group.

Martin Cepeda, Freshman, Pitman High School

My favorite thing to do at the fair would probably be riding the rides. They're all really fun, and while waiting in line, you see people's reactions as they get off the rides. Some are laughing, others are vomiting, and I once saw someone crying as if they were traumatized by the experience. So if you're going to go to the fair, definitely check out the rides!

Pauline Cepeda, Junior, Pitman High School

My favorite thing to do at the fair is definitely ride all the scary rides. My best friend and I have turned going to the fair into a tradition and last year we rode the Zipper for the very first time. It was so fun, and this year, we plan on going on it at least 10 times!

Katie Dillon, Freshman, Enochs High School

I have to admit, I have lived in Modesto my whole life and my parents have never taken me to the fair. Don't get me wrong: I love my parents, but I think I'm missing out on those funnel cakes and corn dogs. I'm determined to get a ride to the fair this year so I can know what I have been missing out on all these years!

Natalia Lima, Senior, Turlock High School

I love the concerts. I haven't been to many, but every time, I go I have a blast! And this year: Kellie Pickler, Uncle Kracker, Bret Michaels and Leann Rimes! I would pay a large sum of money just to see any of them on tour. Luckily, I don't have to, because they are on the Budweiser Variety Free Stage just down the street!

Dominique Germann, Senior, Central Valley High School

I will be showing dairy cattle at the fair, which is one of my favorites, along with showing rabbits and meeting fairgoers and exhibitors alike.

Gabriella Germann, Freshman, Central Valley High School

Aside from the exhaustion that fair time always brings, I like to walk around in my 4-H uniform at the fair and receive stares, as well as admiring looks, and have the pride of my exhibits, from dairy to table settings, being displayed to the public.
